Dominiquetiu 's Thoughts:

You know that iconic scene in Marilyn Monroe’s: The Seven Year Itch, where she was wearing a white cocktail dress and standing on top of a grate on a sidewalk, the delicate fabric billowing on all directions (and showcasing her gams)? That image is still pretty much prevalent in this era–a part of Marilyn Monroe’s legacy; emulated by would-be pin-up girls and parodied in movies. I believe that its popularity could be attributed to the fact that it was so unexpectedly coquettish.

Now, I’m not saying everyone should stand over windy vents and have their skirts reveal their respective underwears to exude sexiness but rather, to imbibe that level of confidence and allowing the wind to push you in that proper direction. Personally, I just find certain imagery made sexier by the presence of literal and figurative wind: a quick facial snapshot in the beach with hair askew, sheer clothing in #ootds having a life of their own… it just adds the necessary drama.
